How my journey began
In Ashani Dante’s extraordinary journey, compassion, empowerment, and self-discovery intricately weave the vibrant tapestry of her life. Once a dedicated paediatric speech pathologist, she has evolved into the visionary force behind The Flourish Journey (formerly Flourish Girl), now serving as Founder & Non-Executive Board Director as she steps into a new chapter of her mission.
Ashani’s early path was grounded in giving children a voice. From the transformative corridors of speech pathology clinics, she witnessed the power of communication and self-expression to unlock confidence and connection in young minds.
In 2016, a deep calling for women’s empowerment led her to create Twnty Something, which later blossomed into Flourish Girl in 2018, now known as The Flourish Journey. The organisation has grown into Australia’s largest feminine-led rites-of-passage charity for teenage girls and gender-diverse teens, delivering transformative programs across the country and impacting over 25,000 young people in 100+ schools.
The Flourish Journey became the canvas where Ashani channelled her compassion, creativity, and leadership into transformative experiences for the next generation. The evolution from clinician to changemaker wasn’t just a career shift, it was a soulful awakening to her true purpose: initiating deep conversations that help young women and their communities reclaim their power.
Today, Ashani continues to amplify those conversations as the co-host of Mamamia’s most popular self-development and mental health podcast, But Are You Happy? — where she explores the messy, meaningful middle of being human and normalises the struggles behind the smiles.
Her work bridges worlds: from youth mental health to women’s empowerment, from charity leadership to storytelling, from the clinic to the mic.
Ashani’s story is one of courage, evolution, and feminine leadership, a testament to the power of using your voice to help others find theirs. She has collaborated with brands such as Sportsgirl, Lancôme, MECCA, T2, Endota (and so much more!) , using her platforms to champion self-expression, authenticity, and emotional wellbeing.
